I graduated from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA with a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Business. I have been in education since graduating, first working in West Orange, NJ as a Teacher Aide. In January of 2011 I decided to move to Rome, Italy to teach English as a second language. I spent one year there and I found it to be one of the most rewarding opportunities of my life. This is my fourth year teaching in Newark Public Schools, my first two years being at Newton Street School and the last two years at Hawkins. Both of my parents worked 30+ years in the district as educators so I have always had teaching (particularly teaching in Newark) engrained in me since I was a little girl. For me, teaching isn't only about helping students achieve success when it comes to Reading and Writing, it's about the connection and the inspiration that I can give my students and, in turn, the inspiration that they give me.
Some of my favorite hobbies include: Traveling, Eating (I LOVE PASTA!!!!!!), Writing, Singing (I sing in my Father's Jazz band!), Yoga, PASTA!!!!
